ACMC Willmar is seeking a Medical Oncologist. Hospital Based Practice – VERY LIMITED CALL. The Willmar Cancer Center is a new joint venture between Rice Memorial Hospital and Affiliated Community Medical Centers. Both organizations have a strong presence in the regional market. The joint venture should increase viability and provide patient conveniences and practice efficiencies. We provide outreach services to several communities and enjoy exceptional support from primary care physicians who handle most acute and inpatient care. We are affiliates of Mayo Clinic in NCCT6 research group. Have been an ACS certified program since 1990. The call burden is very light with telephone-only availability the expectation.
The ACMC network is a regional leader in West Central and Southwest Minnesota’s health care delivery system. ACMC is a physician-owned multi-specialty clinic system with 11 clinics that serve six local hospitals and approximately 103,000 patients annually. ACMC has 170 physicians and mid-level practitioners and features more than 35 specialty departments.
Willmar Regional Cancer Center Oncology Group Dynamics:
- 2 Medical Oncologists
- 1 Physician Assistant
- 1 Radiation Oncologist
- Hospital based – joint venture between ACMC & Rice Memorial Hospital.
- Willmar Regional Cancer Center recently opened a new state-of-the-art facility that is located on the hospital campus (2010).
Work Schedule:
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
(1/2 day off per week)
Call Schedule
Light call with telephone-only availability expectations. Consultative practice.
Office Visits:
8-10 new consults and 80 chemo patients per week
Inpatients:
0-2 per day
Procedures:
Medical oncology, radiation oncology, imaging
Support:
- 5 RNs, 2 LPNs, office manager, data collector, nurse navigator
- Primary care physicians for acute and inpatient care
- Access to national clinical trials and latest cancer therapies via affiliation with Mayo Clinic and Virginia Piper Cancer Institute.
Outreach:
Strong presence in several communities within the region
